France, Australia, Peru, Denmark
Allez Les Bleus! France has not won a World Cup since 1998, but they could very well end that drought in Russia. The team is immense and has some players synonymous with world class. Pogba, Griezmann, Mbappe, Umtiti…the list just goes on and on! They also have the added incentive of rectifying their European Cup disappointment in front of their own fans two years ago. The rest of the teams are essentially there to make up the numbers, but in fairness, each country has some solid footballers. Australia has several European-based players: Aaron Mooy (Huddersfield), Thomas Rogic (Celtic), Matthew Ryan (Brighton Hove and Albion) as well as others playing in Germany. Denmark will certainly be France’s biggest competition in this group. Led by Tottenham Hotspurs star Christian Eriksen, the Scandinavian side boasts footballers playing in every top league in Europe. France 1st and Denmark 2nd.
